Winter Fitness

With the weather so cold and dark it's hard to be motivated to get our of bed to get to work, let alone sticking to a fitness regime.

Before you know it Spring will be here and you'll be wishing you did more that eat those chocolate bars! It's time to get moving if you want to be looking your best.

Here's our top 5 tips to get you back on your feet.

1. Embrace the cold weather. One of the best way to stay in shape during the cold months is to get out there and enjoy it. Whether you like downhill skiing, cross country skiing, ice skating or just bundling up and going for a run, getting outside will be invigorating and will provide a great change of pace from cooping yourself up inside all the time

2, Create heat. Adjust the thermostat timer on your ducted heating to warm your home or bedroom before the alarm goes off. It will make it much easier to get out of bed for those morning workouts.

3. Find a friend. Find someone who will commit to joining you in the morning for walks or workouts, and hold you accountable for showing up.

4. Dress the part. The truth is there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing choices. Is it time to upgrade to proper winter performance gear?

5. Change it up. Finding the motivation to sweat during winter can be challenging. Keep it fun by trying a new group exercise class or team sport - exercise and socialising in one! Something inside is a great option for rainy days.
